Funding
What we do, is quite simple but actually very hard work. We want to save wild animals, one by one. To save them we need funding. The funding is used for the following activities within the rescuing proces.
Negotiating with owners
Negotiating with owners can be quite difficult. Some don’t (want to) understand the problems, others don’t want to say goodbye to animals. Sometimes owners understand that a change is necessary but don’t have the money to make that change possible.
The process of getting owners engaged is unfortunately mostly a long one, with lots of setbacks.
Transport and traveling
Once we have an agreement and the funds to create better conditions for the animal(s) we can go ahead with a very important and risky part of the rescue: the transportation of the animal(s). There are a couple of elements within this stage that are vital. Above all, we have to make sure that the animal(s) are able to make the trip, especially if you know that the trip can last more than 24-36 hours. Sometimes this means that we need to get the animal(s) stronger, with a special feeding or excercising program. In this stage we also make arrangements with parties that play a role in the transportation of the animal(s) and make sure that the proper permits to leave the residing country and enter the new country are in place.
Arranging their new homes
During the last process we also start to make sure that the animal(s) have a new home once they arrive. This means that the sanctuary will have to take action in numerous ways. It means extra food, extra manpower, extra fencing and building a night shelter.
That’s why we often organize activities to raise funds.
With people and with companies.
